Les Terres Jaunes - Beaumes de Venise - La Ferme Saint-Martin

History

The Terres Jaunes cuvée was created in 2000, following a process of parcel selection.

Terroir

Clay-limestone from the Triassic period. This very ancient geological period presents very colorful soils. This soil touches the surface of the commune of Suzette, due to a compression phenomenon. It has the particularity of bringing peppery and spicy notes to the wines.

In the vineyard

Mechanically worked soils between the vines, maintaining a vegetation cover between the rows. 70% Grenache – 15% Syrah – 5% Terret Noir – 5% Counoise – 5% other, vines aged 15 to 40 years. Yield: 30 to 35 hl/hectare.

In the cellar

“Getting the best out of each Trias plot’s identity”. Hand-harvested, hand-sorted, and completely destemmed. Vinified without any added winemaking products. Maceration for 14 to 21 days. Aged for 6 to 9 months in concrete vats. Sulfur-free.

Tasting

Intense ruby color, powerful nose, notes of pepper and spices. Good attack on the palate, predominantly fruity. Drink around 18°C, preferably with a meal.

Storage

Can be consumed young. Aging potential of 5 to 8 years in a cool cellar (3 to 5 years in a cellar with significant temperature fluctuations).

All our wines are organic, certified by Fr-Bio-10 Agriculture France. Passionate family production since 1964 in Suzette, 84190 Vaucluse. www.fermesaintmartin.com
